Tomorrow I will be participating in For Japan with Love. I will be observing a day of blogging silence to respect and acknowledge the devastation going on in Japan. There is more information in the post from Utterly Engaged.
I understand many of you have already donated to other charities. Which is amazing. For Japan with Love is also raising money to provide relief with Shelter Box. Shelter Box provides the essentials to families that are tailored to the disaster such as blankets, water purification equipment, a stove, tools, and cooking utensils.
The need for items like these is great. Many people are stranded with no essentials. They are cold, scared, and don't know what will happen next. Shelter Box is a great program to meet those needs.
So join me tomorrow by not posting.
We can stand together in the most beautiful kind of silence.
We can stand together in the most beautiful kind of silence.
With all my heart,
<3 Vanessa

i love all the awareness people are bringing to help out Japan. Living Social actually just announced that they're matching donations too so I helped contribute a bit more when i saw this opportunity.
ReplyDeletecute & little
Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI think everyone’s heart is in the right place with this. I’d like to ask bloggers who are not posting however, (and blog readers!) to use their time contacting Representatives and the Japanese government in order to urge the Japanese government to permit food and supplies airdrops to Northeast Japan where people are now starving, a week after the earthquake. See a video interview with a Japan scholar on my site: http://mlleparadis.blogspot.com that explains why.
ReplyDeleteThanks if you can help!
What a beautiful way to raise awareness! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this awareness day, I wish I had know. So shameful of me. How did I not hear about this.
ReplyDeleteWrite it in Lipstick
I learned about it on Wednesday. So a lot of people didn't hear about it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteThere's a badge on my blog that you can put on yours and keep up for as long as you like...there's often more you can do later as the situation becomes more clear than anything immediate.
ReplyDeleteMy heart aches as I read more and more about this tragedy.
ReplyDeleteBless you, for you have such a kind soul. <3
Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI joined in as well:)
