Outfit of the day. Easy Breezy.

I feel like this was such a comfortable, and chic outfit to just throw on. I went to the movies, and saw some friends in this outfit. A dress felt perfect for the nice warm weather we are currently having.

I've been trying to wear more dresses, and skirts lately. I like them but I feel kind of fussy in them. I'm a very laid back person, and I don't like to constantly adjust my clothes. I also haven't figured out how to gracefully get out of my car in a dress. I know a lot of women say wearing a dress is so easy, and I want to know if there is a secret I'm missing.
Outfit details: Dress- Merona. Thrifted. Flip Flops- Old Navy. Bracelet- Thrifted.

Any tips on how you take the fuss out of a dress?

With all my heart,
<3 Vanessa

  4. Such a great print and shape to that dress of yours. re taking the fuss out of a dress - I tend to just not focus on being in a dress, as opposed to say, jeans, and move how I normally would. Then you're just relaxed about whatever you're wearing.

  5. I LOVE the sleeve length and hem length on this dress.

To be honest, I think I wear more dresses/skirts in cold weather than in hot weather. Hot weather makes me want to wear shorts all the time for mobility/thigh separation purposes. This is basically a useless comment because I was going to say "wear tights" but that doesn't work when it's hot. For me, getting out of a car involves a lot of knees touching and whole-body swiveling. (Not sure if that's graceful, but it gets the job done.)

  6. I like this!  It's cute!
I don't know what to say about how to make them unfussy!  I wear them with leggings or jeans/trousers sometimes (I know that's not particularly cool but I like the relaxed feel!)

  7. Partly, I think dresses feel fussy if you aren't used to wearing them.  I know when I started my blog that I only owned one dress, so the blog has helped me get more used to it.  Belts and scarves and different shoes can really make the same dress look very different.  I really like the pattern in this one.

  8. I love this dress! and your hair looks amazing here! :) When I have a "fussy" dress that I want to dress down, I usually wear an oversized cardi over it. then I make sure to really let my hair look really casual and relaxed, maybe even all over the place, so it doesn't look too uptight.

  9. There is seriously no way to get out of a car gracefully while wearing a dress. I kind of scoot/tumble/roll out awkwardly. I think you did well making this dress not look too "dressy"--you look comfortable and the style looks easy to emulate. And the dress looks great on you, which always helps!

  10. I think it helps to wear comfortable shoes for sure, which I see you are already doing. That was my only tip. And also be confident! I love the print of this dress!

  11. Very true. I think next time I wear it I will try some more accessories, and style it up. It must be so exciting to live in NY.

  12. This dress is so pretty on you! I think it could look even more casual with a thin, brightly colored (yellow, red?) belt?
    It's adorable!

  13. I actually just bought a red belt, so that's perfect.
