Do you ever expect something to look totally different on you than the hanger? I got this shirt from Sarah (my boyfriend's sister), and I wanted to wear it right away. At first I wasn't sure if this top work on me. It has some ruffles on the bust, and I was afraid it would accentuate my bust.
Outfit details: Top- Hand me down. Carpi's- Brooklyn Girl. Dots. Shoes- Kmart. Bracelets- Gift. Purse- Thrifted.
Then I put it on, and was surprised that it seems to do the opposite, and balance my body's shape out. I really love the color, cut, and even the bust ruffles. Who knew? Bust ruffles are my new bff.
We need to chat about this bag. I mean when I thrifted the bag it was love at first sight.. I feel like it goes with everything, and adds a little something something to any outfit. The boyfriend thinks it looks to 80's and then I corrected him because I think he meant 70's. Poor boy needs to get schooled in fashion. I hope everyone is having a great week!

You are so right about that shirt. I totally would've been on the same boat regarding the ruffles, but it looks great on you! For it being super sunny, you did an excellent job of not squinting. I LOVE your bag. LOVE. What an amazing thrifting find. :)
ReplyDeleteThat colour does wonders for your curves and the colour really shows off your beautiful red hair. xxx
ReplyDeleteLooking through your past few posts, blue is SUCH a good color for you. It really makes all of your coloring pop.
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE bust ruffles....but I also like accentuating my bust!
I so, so love the summery vibe of this ensemble! That bag is such a fun addition to the overall look! :)
ReplyDeleteI've noticed, too, that when a top has something goin' on near the breasts, it actually distracts! It's something I have to convince my clients of every day. Love the bag!
ReplyDeleteThat top really does look great on you!! The bag is perfect as well. :]

I think you're both right, to me it looks EARLY '80's. The colors are kinda '80's but it def has a '70 vibe.

ReplyDeleteyour right It looks proportioned I would have guessed the opposite. It is a cute color.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the ruffles in this top! I'm not so crazy about the ruching in the sleeve area, but it's a really gorgeous top on you! It really hugs all the right curves!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha-ruffles at the bust my new bff! I had the same experience with tiered anything...I thought tiers would add extra and make me look bulkier in reality what they do to my body is awesome. Totally hides things I want hide ;). LOVE THE BAG...not too anything for me!
