Outfit of the day #41. What is black and white and red all over?

What is black and white and red all over? Well me, of course. I wore this on Saturday when we went to my boyfriends sister's birthday Applebee's bash. Now that is a mouthful. Okay so we all really just went out to eat, and then went back to her dorm for cupcakes. I don't know if that counts as a bash. His other sister, her fiance, and the birthday girl's friend came as well. It was really fun. I like my boyfriend's siblings a lot, and I think they like me back. Especially when I give them cold hard cash for their birthdays.
Outfit details: Cardigan- Old Navy. Thrifted. Top- Op. Walmart. Jeans- Old Navy. Thrifted. Shoes- L&C. Necklace- Steve & Barry's.
I'm only wearing a little bit of make up in the pictures. Some tinted moisturizer, concealer, and tinted chapstick. I call it my less than two minutes face. When you only have a few minutes what do you tend to reach for?

Outfit of the day #40. The lost outfit.

The other day when I posted my thrift store post it got me behind a day on outfits. So I just left one outfit out to catch up. The thing is I liked the outfit, I just didn't post it. The photos didn't really come out amazing either. Also, I didn't feel like doing a double outfit post. Does that make sense? Yeah probably not. But, here is the lost outfit anyways. It's like getting bonus features on a DVD. Extra special.

Outfit details: Cardigan- Croft & Barrow. Thrifted. Top- Limited. Thrifted. Capri's- Brooklyn Girl. Dots. Boots- Charlotte Russe. Necklace- HSN. Gift. Headband- Goody.

Here is the boyfriend, and I. He doesn't like this picture. I think it's cute.

Outfit of the day #39. Living the dream.

This was my first chance to sit down at the computer today. We decided to go to see my boyfriends sister for her birthday last minute. More on that tomorrow. I have a life sometimes. Surprising right?

We got a ton of snow. I mean look at that snow mound (last picture) from the plow guy. Most people are surprised that Ohio gets this much snow. I blame the Lake. Lake effect snow is pretty serious stuff.
Outfit details: Jacket- Ralph Lauren. Thrifted. Red top- Wet Seal. Tank- Old Navy. Pants- Urban Outfitters. Boots- Charlotte Russe. Necklace- Steve & Barry's.

Outfit of the day #38. Zombies.

Yesterday my boyfriend, and I had a conversation about Zombies. About how we think it would go down. What could really happen. Why certain things would be impossible. We are deep. Way deep. Do you ever have completely random conversations like that? If so I would love to hear about some.

We are currently on the hunt for a book. It's called The Nasty Bits by Anthony Bourdain. The first sentence of the book talks about going seal hunting. I think it really sets the tone. I love the show No Reservations. The man just warms my heart with his excessive drinking, and foul mouth. Also, if you haven't seen the show Kitchen Confidential and you have worked in a kitchen. (I've worked in one.) You need to watch it right now. It is free on hulu so no excuses.
Outfit details: Cardigan- Croft & Barrow. Thrifted.  Top- Vanity. Gift. Jeans- Old Navy. Shoes- L&C. Earrings- Wal Mart

Outfit of the day #37. To skinny or not to skinny? Now that is the question.

This is my only pair of skinny jeans. I am not a huge fan of skinny jeans. I always thought as a curvy short girl they don't look amazing on me. But, seeing these photos I don't know what to think. I don't think I look as horrendous as I thought I did. Hmm. Not too shabby.

Outfit details: Jacket- Old Navy. Top- Old Navy. Jeans- Old Navy. Tank- Old Navy. Shoes- L&C. Necklace- Steve & Barry's.

Isn't that a sweet track jacket? I got this a long time ago at Old Navy. It's super bright pink. It's one of the very few pinks things I own. Best the best part is the back, it has a cool gold thread design. Do you have anything that you love for the back?

Sorry my post was late. I keep posting later, and later. I think I am going to try to get back to my old schedule of early in the morning.

With all my heart,
<3 Vanessa

P.S. I just noticed everything but my shoes are Old Navy. I think I have a small addiction.

Outfit of the day #36. Hello snow.

As you can see the snow is back. It came down pretty quickly, and it was actually really pretty. It was big fluffy snow, and it covered everything. I always call big fluffy snow Christmas snow. It just seems like the kind that should come on Christmas. While I may complain about the weather the snow looks great in pictures, and gives off good light.

Thrifty Finds. What I've bought lately.

Yesterday I went thrifting on half off day, and I got some really great stuff. I tried to stick to my $50 a month budget but I went a little over. I don't plan on shopping anymore this month though. The reason I try to keep my budget at $50 is I feel like it's a reasonable amount of clothing for me. I can do a lot with $50, especially when thrifting. For some people spending that much a month is out of the question, and some people may think my tiny budget is nuts. You need to find what works for you. Just having a budget can really help you rethink impulse purchases.
Butterfly, and sequin flowers mini dress. $2.50.
It may seem kind of crazy but I love it, and it fits really well.
I couldn't tell where this was from. The label just has a squiggly line.
Alfred Dunner. $2.50.
I like this because it has pockets, and came with a belt. But it's going to need hemmed.
Alfred Dunner. $6.50.
This came new with the tags on it. It's just like the blue one, just new.
Croft & Barrow black cardigan. $1.75
The ridiculous thing is I can never find a black cardigan. I got lucky.
Sorry this photo is terrible. I forgot to take a picture of it so I took one before throwing it in the washer.
Belts. $1 for both.
 The Limited. $2.50.
Relic. $2.50.
This purse just screamed spring to me.
Total: $19.25.

So that means I went over my monthly budget by a whopping $4.25. I am out.of.control. For real. Somebody stop me.

Outfit of the day #35. Cool hues.

Today is one of my favorite days of the week. Monday. You might think I am completely bonkers now. It's half off day at the thrift store. On Mondays absolutely everything is half off. If you know a thing or two about vacuum cleaners one Monday at the thrift store I bought a rainbow for seven dollars. Well my boyfriend found it so he deserves the credit. It's an older version that still sells for around $600 now. New versions of them sell for $1700. That's why I like Mondays. I get expensive vacuum cleaners to sit, and look pretty in my closet because we have wood floors now.

Outfit of the day #34. Owls on my ears, and toes.

I wanted a casual yet more colorful outfit than yesterday. For some reason I feel like I should be on a boat in this. It reminds me of the outfits people wear to go boating here. Somewhat casual, and flat shoes for comfort. By the way I have owl earrings, and owl printed shoes on. I like owl overload.

I curled my hair with my straightener so that's why it's super curly. (How to video).
Terrible close up of the shoe because it was requested.
Outfit details: Sweater- Express. Thrifted. Tank- Walmart. Pants- Steve & Barrys. Shoes- Keds. Earrings- Charlotte Russe (come in a six pack)

I tried to make a video yesterday with my flip but I don't really know where to set it. I tried a few places in my bathroom, and I might just put it on a pile of books. I need to buy a tripod asap. I was going to make a video on telling everyone how I do my make-up. It's really easy, and takes less than 5 minutes for everything. Maybe I will just share the products I use tomorrow.

Right now Wet Seal is having a really good sale. You can take 40% off their current clearance. I needed ballet flats, and I'm pretty sure I will never find them this cheap again. I got 4 pairs of ballet flats with shipping for $19.84. If you decide to buy anything use the code OUTFIT0409 to get an additional 10% off your whole order. If you have a loyalty card you can use it as well. Ground shipping in the US is $5. Here a few of my picks from the sale items.
