So I could tell you about a million excuses why I have been gone. There is really just one. Blogger burnout. I was trying to do waaayyyyy too much at once. Then I felt completely overwhelmed when I sat down to write a post.

I started school last Saturday. I'm taking Astronomy, Speech, Health & Fitness, and Meterology. It is a lot more than I expected but I'm loving my classes. I moved into my new place, and I love it so much. It's a 2 bedroom duplex but it's perfect for my boyfriend, and I. I will give you the video tour I prmise but the place is a work in progress. Lastly I got a new job! At a place I never expected... the mall. I will be working for The Limited part time, and part time at my current job. I went to my orientation today, and I have a good feeling about this place.

I wore this little number to one of my interviews. It made me feel confident, and sometimes you need your clothes to do that.

Some days you just want to wear all black. It used to be my go to look before I started blogging. I couldn't do just black so I added a little pop of color with my printed tank.

I wore this to a nice relaxing Sunday dinner with my boyfriend. Sundays have become our day off together for the past few weeks. I love sleeping in, and just being able to enjoy each other's company.

Right now I'm standing dead in the path of change. After a long search my boyfriend, and I found a great new place. It's a big duplex, and we should be able to start moving in the next week. I can't wait to decorate it, and once we have the keys I will give you all a video tour. I went on an interview on Monday, and I go for my second interview Friday. So I may be switching jobs very soon. Lastly I'm preparing for my 4 fall classes that begin at the end of the month.

Then to add a little more excitement to my week my car broke down while on the way to work this morning. Anyone else having one crazy week?

The heart of Cleveland: Flower Child.

I had a feeling just by the name Flower Child was going to become one of my new favorite stores. Flower Child is located in Lakewood and nestled right next door to Big Fun. A great perk is, unlike most places in the area, there is ample parking in the back.

Flower Child is a two story vintage shop that carries everything from clothing, shoes, accessories, housewares, and even furniture. When you walk in you feel like you are walking into a home full of gems from the past. The top level was cozy, and the lower level was bursting with goodies. I had to contain my excitement, and practically pad lock my wallet to keep myself from buying everything in sight.

Flower Child is a haven for the vintage dresser. The clothing, shoes, and accessories all had tons of character that fast fashion can't touch. You will find most of them in the lower level of the store. It isn't organized by size or color from what I could tell. So allow yourself take more time to shop.

I ended up finding a Kate Spade purse for $15. It is in really good condition aside from a frayed strap. The staff was so warm, and it was a great experience all the way down to the register.

If you are in the Cleveland area go visit Flower Child, and get your vintage itch scratched.

First off I want to thank everyone for hanging around, and still supporting my blog. Next week I should be back to regular posting of 3-4 times a week. The friend follows on Twitter meant a lot even though wasn't posting as much. Thank you all for being awesome.

My summer class is officially OVER. I'm ecstatic. I'm still contemplating burning my books. The downside to burning them is there is some valuable information in them. Maybe that's why they cost so much.

While I don't want summer to end fall semester is going to kick butt. I'm so close to my Associate's degree I can almost taste it. I don't really know what a degree tastes like, I bet it will be delicious.

I feel like I have so much to say and I don't even know where to start.

The course I'm taking is a 5 week course so it feels like I'm going through a class at the speed of light. Remember how I just had my midterm? Next week I have two chapters to read, two quizzes to go with them, a lab, my final, and research project due. I'm feeling a teensy bit overwhelmed.

With that said, I may burn my text books at the end of this class. Who wants to see a nice fire in Ohio on August 4th?

I wore this outfit to see Taking Back Sunday at the House of blues in Cleveland. My boyfriend loves the band, and has been waiting to see one of their concerts for years and years. They are one of my favorite bands too. We both screamed the lyrics at the top of lungs, and enjoyed every second of it.

When you go to concerts are you a singer or a listener? 'Cause I am definitely a singer.

I feel like this outfit is cheating because of this outfit I wore a few weeks ago. This white cardigan just as so easy with this dress. I wore this down by the water for a concert at Cropicana. It's right on Lake Erie, and its becoming one of my favorite weekend spots.

It has been so unbearably hot lately that I'm lounging around the house in this dress a lot. Even the idea of pants sounds awful.

Where did I wear this outfit? To do homework. All. day. long. I'm hardcore to the core. I was planning on going places in this but instead I decided to make myself going stir crazy on Sunday.

I got this printed tank a few weeks ago for $1 while scouring the sale racks at Gabriel Brother's. I really like the summery print. Next time I want to style it with a breezy linen skirt, and tons of beachy jewelry from a cruise I went on a long long time ago. If I can't go on a beach vacation, I should at least dress like I'm on one right?

I have been a Clevelander most of my life, and I went to The West Side Market for the first time this weekend. It is an indoor market with beautiful architecture, and has been going strong since 1912.

My friend Ashley, and I wandered through stalls, and drooled over everything. I ended up having a tasty blueberry banana smoothie, an iced mocha, and turtle cheesecake. The smoothie really was the highlight. It was so fresh, and flavorful. I can't wait to go back.

Now I know this is an awkward shot but I needed to show the sequined pockets in action!

Afterwards we saw a band called Pop Rocks at Shooters. Pop Rocks takes pop songs, and gives them a harder edge. The band was actually pretty good. Shooters is smack dab on Lake Erie, and it was a beautiful way to watch the sunset.

Then we headed to Angelo's, and I can say it's the best pizza I have had in a very long time. Pure perfection. If you are in the Cleveland area go there asap. It will change your life... probably.

Last blog post I left off on the day of the rehearsal dinner. The next day it was finally the big day for my boyfriend's sister, and her fiance. I was so happy to see them get married. They are such a great couple, and perfect for each other. There was so much love in the room, and they were all smiles at the altar.

I was in love with the dress I got from Target. I really liked the color, and cut. It was strange to pay full price for something, but I feel like it was worth it. Target has a way with me.

Outfit of the day. Sassy Grandma.

My boyfriend and I started our adventure to Pittsburgh at 1 in the morning Wednesday night. By the time we left I was barely able to keep my eyes open. We go to Pittsburgh around 3:30 in the morning, and crashed.

The next day we woke up early to go see his grandmother who was in all the way from Napa, California. My boyfriend had not seen her for almost 10 years, and they used to be very close. I was really excited to meet her, and she was one sassy grandma... in all the right ways.

I even got to wear my new organic dress, and it was unbelievably comfortable. I can't believe it took my this long to wear a tank dress.

I had been waiting to do an interview with Kileen from Cute and Little because she has been a little busy. As in she just got married and then went on an African safari. She is an amazing blogger who always seems to find the time to stay in touch with her readers, and has built a tight knit community.She is all the way from Dallas Texas.

Cute and little is a little slice of heaven for petite fashionistas. Kileen comes in at 5 foot tall, and the way normal fits can be a problem. She shares her tips, and tricks on dressing a petite frame. Kileen still has a feminine, and modern style that is bursting it color regardless of her height.

Why did you start blogging?

When I found a community of petite bloggers that were just like me, I wanted to join in and share my fashion sense with others out there. I was instantly drawn into a world where people were so supportive my efforts and I loved the learning process that came with sharing my daily outfits too!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite thing about blogging is all the new friends I've made! I've met so many amazing bloggers (and non-bloggers!) through my blog and my life has been tremendously enriched as a result. Blogging has definitely opened up my world!

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

A person's style is an expression of themselves. Fashion is as much a statement as something that's spoken or written. Every person is different and thus every person's style is different. Although we are all inspired by each other, each person ultimately will put their own spin on making an outfit their own. And that's what makes fashion amazing!

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?

I've been loving bold reds, oranges, and corals recently. Somehow they just scream summer to me and I can't get enough of them! Regardless of whether I pair them with other brights or tone it down with neutrals, I just love outfits that incorporate these rich hues.

What is your favorite item of clothing, or accessory?

Omigoodness...just one?!! Wow, this is hard. I would have to say my favorite piece of the moment is my Lace Chantilly Dress from Forever 21. I've been loving lace this season and this dress can be dressed both up and down and the lace overlay is absolutely gorgeous. I would probably sleep in this dress if I could!

Forever 21 and H&M (thank goodness Dallas is getting their own H&M store this fall!)

What is your best money saving fashion tip?

It's easy to impulse buy when shopping online. What I do is I force myself to wait at least 2 days before checking out online. You'd be surprised how your feelings towards something can change in that amount of time. I've found that oftentimes I will not feel as strongly about certain items anymore and don't feel the urge to purchase it anymore. Trust me, I've saved hundreds using this technique!

Friday I was all over the Cleveland area. First I went to see the reggae band Carlos Jones with my friend (she is also my brother's girlfriend) down at Cropicana on Whiskey Island. It started pouring during the band's set so they had to cut the concert short. Then we headed to Melt in Lakewood, and I can't believe it took me so long to go there. I had a monte cristo, and it was pure heaven. Afterwards we met my boyfriend, my brother, and some other friends for drinks at The Tap House. It was really fun but I was so tired by the time I got home I could barely keep my eyes open.

A little summer shopping.

I did a little shopping the other day because I had to return something. Makes sense right? Get your money back, and then spend a little more. I was definitely in a summer kind of mood. All I wanted was shorts, dresses, and sandals.

I love these bermuda shorts but...

I'm not so sure about the sequined back pockets.

How to ask someone to guest post for your blog.

When I first started blogging guest posting was this area that I wanted to pursue but I wasn't sure how to start. I didn't really know how to write a guest post, and I was nervous to ask other people to be on my blog. Here are a few tips from me to you on how to ask someone to guest post, or be featured on your blog.

1. Just do it.
I put off asking my first Blogs From The Heart feature until they contacted me about something unrelated. Then I just started emailing my favorite blogs, and asking them to be featured. It was a little nerve racking at first because I really respected the bloggers, and I wanted them to participate. But, every single person I've contacted has been kind, and happy to be featured.

2. Ask nicely.
Remember the person you asking to guest post, or feature is a person. Let it come from the heart, and ask kindly. Don't make crazy demands, and make it as easy as possible for them to guest post for you. Remember that they are doing you a favor, and taking time to write for your blog. Don't expect for a blogger to always say yes, and if they say no it's okay. I have never had anyone say no to my Blogs From The Heart feature if that makes you feel any better about asking a fellow blogger to guest post.

3. Don't rush them.
Timing is key. Give the blogger you are asking enough time write the post. Makes sense right? Don't ask a blogger on Tuesday to have a guest post done for Thursday. You both will be running around like chickens with their heads cut off to get the post up in time.

4. Ask the people you've built blogging relationships with.
The best guest posting for your blog is going to be from people who are already involved in your blogosphere. They are going to know your readers, and the all around feel of your blog. So go for the people closest to you who care about your blog, and your readers. Not only will your experience with them be better, it will be a great read too.

5. Return those emails.
Last but not least, and this may be the most important, return their emails to you. I don't think I even need to explain this one. Don't leave them hanging.

Outfit of the day. Out of pajama land.

So... I have sort of been not getting dressed lately. I mean I have been for work, obviously. I don't get to dress how I want for work, my work clothing is all about function. I have been in a place called pajama land after work. It's a glorious place, but not necessarily glamorous.

I had to venture out this past weekend to get some nourishment, and find some entertainment. Which meant an over priced salad, and a two movies from Red Box. I have some raging weekends kids. Don't try, and keep up with this girl, or you will get burned out fast.

Stephanie is the creator of The Loud-Mouth lifestyle blog. I found her blog through the lovely Citizen Rosebud. I love her blog's strong voice, and it's motto "you only get one life, so live it loudly" (direct quote from blog). Whether it's her style, vegetarian beliefs, or her changing careers she definitely lives by that motto. She blogs from Los Angeles California where she works at Ann Taylor.

Why did you start blogging?

I've been blogging for half my life now. :) It started when I was twelve... I simply wanted a place to post my poetry, stories and updates for friends. I didn't have a public blog until six months ago when I started the-loudmouth.com! The main reason I went public is because I wanted to share my life with the world -- not that it's an especially exciting one, but I fully believe that by living life to the fullest (AKA loudest!) I will inspire others to do the same. Life is too short to not love and experience as much as possible!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I really love that it's an outlet for my creativity. It's so satisfying and gives me something to look forward to in my daily routine!

When one's personal style reflects his or her personality, he or she will automatically be unique -- because we're all different! Your style should show the world who you are... otherwise, no one will get to know awesome you. :)

I've been wearing a lot of neutrals paired with pops of color -- yellows, oranges and pinks. Summery stuff!

Well, Ann Taylor of course, but I'm biased because it's my workplace. They really do have great sales all the time though, so go check it out! And you can never go wrong with Forever 21 and their cute, cheap trends.

Preface: This is not what I wore yesterday. Why? Yesterday I looked like a. hot. mess. Not saying I look fantastic in these but I didn't even begin to try to put myself together. It was pjs all day.

My favorite summer breakfast with a side of a trip to the ER.

So yesterday was a little out of the ordinary for me. I've been having back pain for about a month, and a half. I kept putting off going to get it looked at. I was at work, and my back hurt so bad I was having a hard time breathing through the pain.

Cue me leaving work immediately, and then going to the ER. Don't worry it wasn't super dramatic or anything. I mean I walked in, and it was pretty empty. I was just in a lot pain and needed to figure out why. I got poked, and prodded. After four lovely hours I found I out I had a small kidney stone, a urinary tract infection, and I pulled a muscle in my back. That means my back will keep hurting for a few weeks. I don't want to gross anyone out, but I thought some of you would ask what they found out.

Now to the yummy part of the post. I took these pictures on Saturday with full intention of sharing this yummy treat. I have been loving this simple breakfast lately. (Now I may need to lay off the yogurt though). It's almost like having frozen yogurt, and it's really affordable.

I may have taken a few bites before this photograph ; )

First layer about 1/2 cup of frozen fruit on the bottom of the bowl. I used Great Value Berry Medley. Then on top of that add 1/2 cup of plain vanilla yogurt. I used Great Value low fat Vanilla yogurt. To top it off sprinkle 1/3c of Kashi Go Lean Crunch on top. Let it sit a for minute or two before you eat it so the fruit has a chance to defrost a little.

You can even make this the night before, and store it in your fridge. Just make sure you don't add the cereal until your ready to eat it. This packed full of protein, and perfect on a hot day. It's also great if you're craving ice cream, and want a healthier alternative.

I'm going to go lay in bed for all of eternity now. I hope everyone is having a great week.

I feel like this was such a comfortable, and chic outfit to just throw on. I went to the movies, and saw some friends in this outfit. A dress felt perfect for the nice warm weather we are currently having.

I've been trying to wear more dresses, and skirts lately. I like them but I feel kind of fussy in them. I'm a very laid back person, and I don't like to constantly adjust my clothes. It has been so gorgeous lately. So gorgeous that my eyes were watering from the sun shining right in them. I had to put on my sweet polarized sunglasses from the fishing department at Wal Mart so I wouldn't look like I was crying. I'm not a vampire I swear.

Do you ever expect something to look totally different on you than the hanger? I got this shirt from Sarah (my boyfriend's sister), and I wanted to wear it right away. At first I wasn't sure if this top work on me. It has some ruffles on the bust, and I was afraid it would accentuate my bust.

Then I put it on, and was surprised that it seems to do the opposite, and balance my body's shape out. I really love the color, cut, and even the bust ruffles. Who knew? Bust ruffles are my new bff.

We need to chat about this bag. I mean when I thrifted the bag it was love at first sight.. I feel like it goes with everything, and adds a little something something to any outfit. The boyfriend thinks it looks to 80's and then I corrected him because I think he meant 70's. Poor boy needs to get schooled in fashion. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Why did you start blogging?

I followed a few blogs for quite some time, posting outfits always looked so fun! I have always had an interest in fashion, necklaces in particular and eventually want to design and make my own! Blogging has opened my eyes to so many things in fashion, I have taken so many more risks in my outfits and have learned to love the wardrobe that I already have! I have to say the people I have met. I have met so many amazing people as a result of my blog, and although they do not live around the corner for me (approximately 24 hours away) it has been great to get to know so many people, their culture and their unique style that has all contributed to my style today! Reading other blogs daily gives a girl so much inspiration!

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

Every person is different and unique, no two people are the same, your clothes represent who you are! Your clothes should be a reflection of your true self, and I believe that this is really important. In such a materialistic world, it is important to stay true to yourself and not fall into the trap of trying to be someone you are not!

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?

I have been loving pretty patterns! I have always been a straight one color girl, but lately I have embraced patterns of all kinds! I would never in a million years have worn bold patterns a couple of weeks ago! But now, I love it! I even bought a leopard print dress last week! You will have to stay tuned for that one!

What is your favorite item of clothing, or accessory?

I am OBSESSED with statement necklaces! I love making a statement, no matter the occasion! I own at least 40 (in case you were wondering just how obsessed I am). I am also investing time into making my own necklaces as sought of a business venture! You will need to stay tuned for that one also!

I live in Australia, so many of the shops I like to shop at you don’t have! I do like shopping at target when I am on a budget! They have many staple items too for such an affordable price!

Remix your own wardrobe! Go shopping in your existing closet and mix things you ordinarily wouldn’t! It is free and you will learn more about the wardrobe you have.

Wal Mart dollar shirt haul and a little ethical thinking.

The other day we were at Wal Mart in the check out line, and my eyes gazed upon racks overflowing with clothing for $1. I kind of hyperventilated, and may have skipped to the rack of clothes. I feel like some people don't understand how cheap I am, and this is me flying my freak flag for the world to see.

I can't believe I am going to admit this online but I kind of like the Miley Cyrus junior's clothes at Wal Mart. They run really really small but the fit is more modern than most of Wal Mart's clothing. To give you an idea I'm a medium at most stores, and I'm an XL in the Miley Cyrus brand.

Anyways on to the goods.

I also bought this top in blue, and it is pictured here in yesterday's outfit post.

I love getting great deals but, I'm also fighting this other side of me. I know the kind of impact mass produced clothing creates. I hate increasing world suck. I don't want people to be paid pennies to make my clothes, or create tons of waste from "throw away" clothing. When I'm facing a rack of $1 clothing I will leave clothes behind if I won't wear them. I think that's why we as consumers need to be careful, even when shopping at great sales, to show restraint.

What's your take on shopping ethically, and staying on a tight budget?

These are the jeggings I bought the other day on my trip to Old Navy. They are really comfy, but are cut so much closer than regular jeans. I wasn't quite sure how to wear them. I know you are supposed to wear longer tops with regular leggings, and I wasn't sure if the same rule applies for jeggings. I paired them with a long tank, and thought the open plaid top offset the tight bottoms.

It has been really hard not to wear these everyday since I got them. I'm in love with my new skinny jeans. I found the lovely Nicole from Coco Maria from another blogger who I already have featured (Amber). She is a super sweet blogger, and has a feminine style with a vintage flair. Nicole blogs from New York where she also attends college.

Coco Maria is a personal style blog full of outfit posts. I look to her blog for casual, feminine, and put together looks. You will find her wearing a bounty of skirts, dresses, lace, peter pan collars, and floral prints. I love the little details Nicole works into her outfits like her orange fox brooch (pictured above).

Don't get it twisted Coco Maria isn't all about clothes the blog also infused with lots of Nicole's daily life. I like reading about her stories, and all her adventures. She isn't afraid to share her personal life, and it makes her easy to connect with.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging after reading a few fashion blogs (particularly Delightfully Tacky and The Clothes Horse) for months. I really wanted to interact with these super stylish girls, so I started my own blog as a way to comment on their blogs and share my thoughts with these girls whose blogs I had been reading for such a long time. I was also a few months into my weight loss journey at the time, and I thought it would be fun to have a record of how my style changed and developed as I lost weight.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I'm going to shamelessly go with the cliche answer here because it's so true: the community! I've met so many amazing, supportive, and of course fashionable girls through blogging. The fashion blogging community is full of such sweet, understanding folks, and I love being a part of it.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?
Having my own style has always been important to me. From my pink velour track suit grammar school days, to my gothic punk high school days, and to my girly, vintage, all over the place style now, I've always thought it important to have a unique sense of style. Having a style that's unique to you, I think, shows that you're confident in the person that you truly are, and that you're not going to change that person to fit in to any sort of stereotypical category. While I don't think it's good to be shallow and only care about how you look, I think developing a personal style is much deeper than the clothes you wear. It's about being confident in who you are.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
For a long time I couldn't stop wearing navy blue and mustard together. Now that the weather's warming up, I love wearing my denim jacket with floral prints!

When did you start shopping second hand?
I started shopping second hand shortly after starting my blog. I had never even thought to check thrift stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army until I saw so many other bloggers showing off their awesome thrifted pieces. I don't know why it didn't hit me sooner to shop at thrift stores, where you can get really unique pieces for very little money. Now, though, I try to go thrifting as often as I can!

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?
Oh goodness, the best advice I could give is to be sensible! The first time I hit the Salvation Army, I was so overwhelmed by the choices. I bought a bunch of garments, from dresses to tops to skirts, and many of those items were too big. I was so blinded by cute patterns and cheap prices that I didn't make smart choices. So, my advice would be to be selective with what you buy. Just because something is cute and cheap doesn't mean it belongs in your closet. You should shop at a thrift store just as you should shop at a store like Urban Outfitters - try everything on and only buy pieces that are a good investment.

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?
Unfortunately, I haven't found any thrifted pieces with a story behind them that I know of. I did, however, find a handmade skirt that has horses and cowboys all over it, so I figure that skirt must have some fun story behind it!

How to shop like a Boss, and practically steal from Old Navy.

After my shopping trip yesterday I feel like this title is appropriate. I got a $25 gift card to Old Navy for my birthday, and I was ready to use it.

For $33.11 (that is WITH tax kiddos) I got 4 pairs of pants, 2 tank tops, 1 button down, and a maxi dress. Yesterday I planned on going straight home to do adult things like dishes, laundry, and cleaning. I'm so glad I ditched it. When I handed over my $8.11, after the $25 gift card, to the cashier for my two bags of clothes I had the biggest smirk on my face. I almost felt like I was stealing from Old Navy.

It's kind of funny how I don't own basic items like black jeans. I feel like Elaine from Clothed Much would be proud of all my black pants purchasing. I went from one pair of black cargo pants to four pairs of black pants overnight.

I wanted to post all of my finds asap because then you guys would still have time to go get stuff. My store as holding a 50% off already reduced clearance. The sale is going on the rest of the weekend for the Memorial day holiday. I found all of my items but the tank tops in the clearance section.

The kicker regular price for all of these items would have been $181.50!

Outfit of the day. Is it a keeper?

The second part of my day-cation we checked out the Giant Eagle Market District. It's pretty much the coolest Giant Eagle in the world. They have specialty grocery items, a food court, and exotic foods. They were even taping a TV show when we got there.

We went to eat in their food court area. You can get Indian food, BBQ, Sushi, Pizzas, Sandwiches, Crepes, Coffee, Cotton Candy, and Gelato. There is tons of seating, and it's actually really nice. I had tandoori chicken with rice, mango chutney, and a slice of blackberry cheesecake. It was the best breakfast I've had in ages.

For dinner we all made mussels and steak in a green harissa with potatoes, and crostini,. When we visit we always cook together. There is just something satisfying about eating an amazing meal that you made yourself. I tend to do all the easy stuff because I'm not much of a cook. A little after dinner we headed back home, and said our goodbyes to Pittsburgh until July. Why July? That is when Sarah (my boyfriend's sister), and her fiance get married!

Outfit of the day. Double Trouble.

Now I know last post I started telling you about our little Pittsburgh day-cation. I left straight from work, and I was ready for a little R&R. I wanted to cram a mini vacation in one night, and the next day. You may think I'm crazy but I work 6 days a week so that's just how I roll.

Once we got there I immediately noticed that Sarah (my boyfriend's sister) and I were about to be all matchy matchy. That's how you know I'm a fashion blogger, I love seeing what people are wearing. It's kind of funny the birthday girls were just feeling purple tops, and black pants.

The first night of our Pittsburgh trip we went to The Sharp Edge. It's a Belgian restaurant with a huge beer selection. We caught up, and shared stories. That's always my favorite part about spending time together. We all have fun, talk too much, and can let loose.

Then I decided to take some photos in front of some graffiti on the underpass which was in the parking lot. I felt like as a blogger it would have been wrong to pass up the opportunity.

I went to Pittsburgh this past weekend with my boyfriend. It was a little birthday day-cation. We went to spend time with my boyfriend's two sisters, and his soon to be brother in law. When we get together it's always a par-tay. My boyfriend's sister Sarah's birthday is two days before mine. So, for the past few years we go to visit his sister Sarah, and her fiance Brad in Pittsburgh to celebrate our birthdays.

I thought a good start would be some video from Pittsburgh. This is of downtown Pittsburgh. I love the little curve we come around, and see the city.

I planned on showing you pictures from the first night, and more video than this. But, It's almost sad how long it took to make this video.Then Youtube removed the audio.

Samantha from Fazed Girl isn't a typical fashion blogger like I normally feature. She is more of a whatever her heart desires blogger. The moment I found her blog I kind of went into fan girl mode. It was like the heaven's sung out, and another force was hitting the follow button for me.

On Fazed Girl you will find outfit posts, monthly link round ups, and Samantha's original writing. Some of her fashion standbys include combat boots, saddle shoes, fingerless gloves, and a trench coat. Her monthly links posts are the cat's pajamas. Why did you start blogging?
Well. I'd been posting my outfits on MyStyleDiary for a while but I eventually felt like I needed a bigger space to geek out on the internet. I thought about starting my own blog for a long time (as in, I watched Susie Bubble migrate from MyStyleDiary to TypePad) but always felt too narcissistic to do it. But having been someone who kept a paper diary starting at 8, and having had a personal website since 11, and having read fashion blogs since 13, at 17, I thought "I can definitely do that!", and because I was obsessed with Agathe's blog (the now-defunct StyleBytes), and because I had too much free time as a second-semester high school senior, I started blogging.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Cataloging my outfits and thoughts and parts of my life and being able to look back at them. The most selfish reason in all the cosmos. I like looking at other people's blogs as catalogues, though. I like seeing what other people are doing and curating the parts of it that I like. Like people-watching.

Where do you get your inspiration for your blog?
For the most part, whatever media I've been consuming lately, whoever I've been reading, whatever I've been watching. Blogs, movies, books, plays, TV shows, et cetera. I used to be really into runway shows and editorials, but I think blogging kind of over saturates your mind with the same images or types of images until each season gets boring before it even arrives. So I've been looking in other places. (To be honest, even reading blogs gets aesthetically exhausting every few months.)

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?
I think that first impressions count a LOT, and while I fully believe that "Feel good inside, look good outside" is true, I also subscribe to "Look good outside, feel good inside," because it's hard to feel good about yourself if you don't feel good about how you look, and for most of us, it's easier to achieve that by dressing in a way that makes us feel good than by becoming self-actualized and super zen about how we look. I don't know, I think of getting dressed as a sign of respect. That you respect the work you are going to do today, the people you are showing up for today. It's like, hello! I am ready for you, world. Take me or leave me, but let me not pretend to be someone I am not.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
Plaid + florals (though to be honest, I don't get around to wearing them very often), and I KNOW IT SOUNDS ATROCIOUS, but I think it looks brilliant when the prints are in the same color family.

Do you have any clothing, or accessories with a story behind them?
Yes! Actually, most of my wardrobe is gifted or secondhand or borrowed, but I guess my (only) trench coat has quite a bit of history because it was my mom's, but after she stopped working in an office, she never had an occasion to wear it, so she gave it to my aunt, but my aunt had my grandma take the sleeves in, and then my aunt stopped working in an office, and now, years later, I'm the main wearer of the trench coat, but apparently my arms are longer than my mom's or my aunt's because the sleeves are so short that even if I let the hems out, they wouldn't cover my wrists. But I love it dearly.

If you could have anything in your wardrobe, no matter the cost, what would it be, and why?
Financial security. An Olympic-sized swimming pool. The TARDIS and the Doctor. (But if you meant wardrobey items, definitely decaying Victorian dresses and every costume worn in Never Let Me Go.)

Okay so maybe it's not your birthday. But, it's mine. Mine all mine.

I hope don't get too intense on you here. But, I feel like a lot has happened in the last year. I'm enrolling back into college. I start June 29th if anyone is wondering. I started this blog. I lost a lot of weight, and have been doing my best to keep it off. I'm starting to take charge of my life, and not letting anything get in my way. I hope I can keep this fire in me brewing.

First, one trillion cool points for knowing where the title comes from. It's a movie near, and dear to my heart. I saw it in the theater, and laughed until my face hurt. I think I even shed some happy tears.

Second don't be fooled by these photos. These are from last week right before blogger exploded. It was 85 glorious degrees. It was like a little slap of summer, and everyone complained about the heat. I blame all of you complainers for this... right now it's raining again, and in the low 40's. Your bad mojo is messing up my sunny days.

What I Wore Today was one of those blogs I kept seeing everywhere. I would click a link, and another link to end up at Kasmira's blog once again. With her fiery red hair, and bright lips I couldn't stay away. She has a way about her that you just can't help but be drawn in. She has a great recipe for a blog: a healthy handful of outfit posts, mix in marathon training, and add a dash of her super cute cats.

Kasmira was the first fellow Ohio fashion blogger I found in the blogosphere. She blogs from Cincinnati, Ohio. If you are looking for business casual outfits you will find a lot of inspiration on What I Wore Today. Her wardrobe includes every color under the rainbow, and tons of prints. You won't get bored anytime soon by her ever evolving style.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging out of loneliness. After leaving the US Marines, I moved to Cincinnati (from Okinawa, Japan) and knew no one in the area. I began my first blog (Cincinnati Cape Cod) to make connections with other home and garden enthusiasts. The relationships I made with my new, virtual friends eased my transition into home ownership and a new city.

Two years later, I had integrated into Cincinnati and civilian life, but had no one with whom to share my newfound passion for style. My first blog had worked well to connect me with renovators, decorators, and gardeners, so I thought a wardrobe diary might help me find stylish folk. I knew of only a single style blog when I started (Allie’s Wardrobe Oxygen, http://www.wardrobeoxygen.com/). Now there are dozens and I’ve found the community I was looking for.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
Blogging is my greatest creative outlet. I love sharing my “creations” via blogging. I enjoy putting my outfits together, participating in the photo shoots, editing the photos, and finding the right words to frame it all. Blogging is my art.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?
I believe that dressing your outer self to match your inner self brings harmony between your personality and appearance. Think about the last thing you felt great in. What was it that made that outfit so comfortable and “you?” Why can’t you dress like that all the time? Identifying and following one’s personal style is a way to feel great every day.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
Color combo: aqua and coral! It’s so southwestern.
Pattern combo: any and all!

When did you start shopping second hand?
I did not grow up shopping thrift stores. There was a strong stigma associated with Goodwill and I was terrified of having it associated with me. That’s where the poor kids had to buy their clothes. I would have rather worn my bought-new clothes over and over than have a large secondhand wardrobe.

Around the time I started WIW2D, I also became an active member in the Wardrobe Remix group on flickr, http://www.flickr.com/groups/wardrobe_remix/. I noticed the sweet thrifting finds other members were wearing and reconsidered my anti-second-hand stance. I made my first adult venture to a thrift store in early 2007. I quickly realized that the thrift shopping experience is defined by the shopper’s attitude. It can be a last resort, or it can be a treasure hunt. I am now addicted to searching for buried treasures and proudly tell people that I “bought it at the thrift store.”

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?
Thrift shopping can be recreation. Go in with an open attitude and a creative mind. Styling can take a garment from dowdy to chic. Thrifted duds are also great candidates for experimentation – shortening, embellishing, cutting, and dyeing. It's fun (and cheap) entertainment!

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?
Almost all of them have a story! One of my best transformations was to take a calf-length, white skirt and shorten it and dye it bright yellow (http://whatiwore2day.blogspot.com/2010/04/yeller-skirt.html). I so enjoy finding the potential in a discarded item.

Outfit of the day. Rekindling an old flame.

(First I want to say if you already read this post it's being reposted because blogger's issues on Thursday.)

I will admit it, I'm back in love with black, and white. I know it's simple, and maybe a little boring. I just can't help it. I've always loved the crisp look of it. It's an old flame, and I had to rekindle it. It also gives me a reason to wear my vintage black, and white cuff.

While everyone is tanning, and trying to find self tanning creams I'm rocking my pale. My skin color practically blends with the sunlight in these pictures. Skin cancer runs in my family, and there's nothing wrong with being pale. Pale can be beautiful too.

Today I am a paper doll. How you say? I'm participating in the Paper Doll Project that Miss Vinyl Ahoy is hosting.

When I was younger I loved paper dolls. I used to buy books with them, and I would carefully punch out all the different pieces. I never thought the day would come where I would get to be one.

I have the awesome Kara from Unusual Form to thank for dressing me today. Thanks for letting me be your paper doll for a day!

I really liked this outfit, and will probably end up wearing other ones Kara suggested. The colors worked really well together. I had only worn this shirt once or twice, and I hadn't worn the skirt since buying it. I don't know why I waited so long, and I'm glad Kara made an awesome outfit with them both.

I'm not used to tucking in my shirt. So it was sort of weird to see it tucked in. The only thing I didn't like was that my shirt was a little too blousy to be tucked in. If the belt would have stayed in place it would have fixed my minor shirt issue.

Outfit of the day. What I wore for a food coma.

My boyfriend, and I went to downtown Cleveland Saturday night. This is a rarity for me because I work 6 days a week, and I always have to be up early. The stars aligned, and I knew it was going to be a good night.

Outfit details: Top- Wet Seal. Tank- Old Navy. Thrifted. Pants- Old Navy. Shoes- Wet Seal. Necklace- HSN. Gift. Necklace- Steve & Barry's.

We went to La Strada, to eat. I should have brought my camera... you are just going to have to work with me here. It's a Mediterranean style restaurant that is underrated. The food is fantastic, and I really love the atmosphere.

To start the meal we had oysters with caviar, and champagne. Next up was arancini, which is fried risotto. Then a serving of farro with wild mushrooms, porcini, and truffle oil. Next came scallops with a cauliflower puree. After that we had the spicy mussels served in herb harissa. For my entree I had salmon served over fresh vegetables. My boyfriend had a hanger steak served with Spanish chorizo, mussels, and potato croquettes. To finish it off we had the best creme brulee I've ever had.

I seriously could have died right there, and been perfectly happy in my food coma.

I ended up getting home at 1:30 in the morning, and had to be up in a few hours for work. Thank goodness for coffee.

Kimberly is a woman on the go. She works full time, and is also a mother. Soon she is even changing careers. So her clothing has to be a little practical, and pack a lot of style. She loves to play with color, and isn't afraid of a great pair of neon tights. Kimberly is on a tight budget, and shows that you can look great at any price point.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I felt a lost sense of self after I had my daughter. That sounds bad, but I just mean with personal style, really. Everything else became so much more important and I didn't care about getting dressed. I saw myself falling into that "mom rut" with the t-shirts, sweatpants, and flip-flops, and I knew I didn't want that to be me. So, I started the blog to hold myself accountable for getting dressed.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
MY FRIENDS!!! Oh my goodness, I've made so many friends through this amazing community! The bloggers I've "met," if you will, have helped me realize so many important things in life. Like... that blogging isn't everything, even to really popular bloggers. Having women to reach out to and mothers to lean on for advice has been invaluable and I'm so happy to call myself a part of the style blogging community. I've also really learned to embrace my body since starting Fashion Momma.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?
I don't know about every else, but I portray on the outside what I'm feeling on the inside. And if I'm not feeling so great, dressing helps me feel better sometimes, too. I don't know... it's like being an artist, I guess. Except I paint with clothes. That's how I tell my story and share who I am.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
OMG. Everything. Have you seen me? I'm obsessed with color. But really, I'm swooning over turquoise and red to wear, to decorate with... It's so fresh. I'm convincing my husband to let me completely redo our guest room in red, white and turquoise!

What is your advice to people new to trying bold colors?
I don't think color is something you can dip your toes in. You have to get on the high dive and jump head first into the rainbow. And it's SO worth it and so much fun to dress with bold colors! Not only will you feel awesome, but you're going to make everyone around you extremely happy, too! If you're nervous, color blocking is a great way to incorporate color without being busy.

What are your favorite stores to shop at on a budget?
Target, Old Navy, Charlotte Russe, Kohl's, New York & Company, Salvation Army, Goodwill, Forever 21 (if I can find things that fit), and WalMart!

What is your best money saving fashion tips?
Recycle and remix! I've found a few items in my closet that I'd never wear, again, so with a few easy snips and stitches, they've become new pieces. For instance, I had a drab grey cotton dress with no shape, whatsoever. So I cut the bottom half off, added an elastic waistband, and it became an a-line skirt in a neutral shade! And when I get new pieces of clothing, I take them home and make FIVE outfits with the new item and things I already own. If I can't think up five ways to wear it, the tags stay on and it goes back to the store!

Outfit of the day. The pants do all the work.

Yeah that's right naked feet all up on this blog. It is flip flop weather, and I couldn't be more excited. Yesterday my boyfriend and I celebrated cinco de mayo. By celebrated I mean we ate dinner, and I had a big margarita in a cactus glass. Nothing says class like a cactus glass.

I think for wearing a hoodie, and flip flops I still managed to look put together. The key was a fitted hoodie that doesn't zip up. Also, the dress pants really helped me look a little more polished. I just let the pants do all the work.

I almost forgot to do the end of the month outfit round up! In April my new olive jacket got a workout. I don't post all my outfits, and I know that I reached for it way more than pictured here. After yesterday's car debacle I'm looking forward to a normal day today. I have the car back, and it cost $180. I'm so thankful it wasn't stolen like we thought at first. It safe, and sound in the driveway. I've never been so happy to see that hunk of junk.

It's situations like this though that show me I'm a little stronger than I think. I can face things head on, and just deal with it. I was a little angry but I didn't fly off the handle or anything. I did what I needed to, and then moved past it. You can't let the little things bring you down, or you'll always be down.

Outfit of the day. Oh Christmas Tree.

Sometimes I want to look like a Christmas Tree. I think I was pretty successful at it. In all seriousness though I'm loving contrasting colors lately. It's really refreshing, and easy to do.

Yesterday I went, and met with a school counselor. As long as I pass my classes I'm on track to get my Associates of Arts in December. Which after being out of school for almost 5 years is crazy to say. Don't worry I'm not going to talk about school all the time now. Even though it's all that is on my mind lately.

Not only that my car got towed by the city of Cleveland last night. For pretty much no reason, even the cop said it shouldn't have been towed in the first place. So now I have to take today off, and try to get my car out of an impound lot. Yay.

Anika describes herself as a self worth activist. She is a strong woman and lives her life unapologetically. Her blog is very genuine, and honest. She is secure in the person she is, and that in itself is very fashionable. I feel like we all can learn something from her.

She wears a mix of handmade, store bought, and vintage items. By creating a lot of her wardrobe she cultivates a style all her own. A scarf becomes a top, two skirts a dress, and in the end Anika looks down right fabulous. Anika is unafraid of trying new things, and rocking any trend her heart desires.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I needed a creative outlet that would combine my love for designing clothes, writing, taking pictures and connecting with people. Blogging is the perfect fusion of my creativity in the various parts of my life.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

Everything! What I did not know when I started blogging was that there was such a community of bloggers out there. I felt shy about being a plus sized fashion blogger when I first started blogging, but now I feel so connected with so many amazing bloggers that my life is forever changed. My quality of life is enhanced to no end thanks to all of my blogger-friends.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

For me the way I dress is a self expression. When I dress in colours and patterns I am celebrating my own self acceptance. I have worked damned hard for it, and now every leopard print that I wear is my reward to my self. I have claimed my self worth, print by print, colour by colour. I dress the way I do because I am who I am.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?

I am absolutely loving stripes, wide and narrow, and I prefer them horizontal thank you very much. I honestly never thought I would dare to wear horizontal stripes on my curvy shape, but I blew that box wide open too, and now I can`t get enough. As for colours I am really into navy blue, orange and nudes. Having avoided wearing colour for most of my life (because I felt so ugly that I needed to hide), every new colour that I can get away with feels like a revelation. My closet is like a box of sweets, and I feel happy doing my laundry now, because the colours are so pretty. Also, all of my colourful dresses fit. If they don`t make me feel fab they don`t belong in my closet.

When did you start shopping second hand?

I have been shopping second hand most of my life. As a teenager I went through a phase where I bought second hand mens shirts that I wore with ties and skirts. Then I took it to the next level and started creating pieces my self that are third hand. I am always reworking all of my clothes, and I love to use second hand pieces and create something new and fresh.

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?

My advice would be to not look at the limitations in the pieces, but to explore how you can make a second hand piece work for you by tailoring it. And, be prepared to look through a lot of stuff for the gems.

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?

I have a lot of fabrics and bags that were my mothers, and I love these pieces because they are like memories. I am always asking mum what the story of pieces are. I love sewing dresses from mums fabrics, bringing some of her with me in my every day life.

Why you should stop apologizing.

During my blog reading lately I've noticed a lot of posts prefaced with "I'm so sorry I haven't been (insert online thing) because I'm doing ( insert thing in real life)". Bloggers need to stop apologizing for having a life outside of the internet.

There is nothing wrong with spending time with your family. Have exams coming up? I completely understand why you aren't on the internet. Just had a baby? I wish I could lend you some of my time in that case. Going on vacation? It's okay if you don't have guest posts lined up. Don't get me wrong, I love a good guest post. I'm just saying it is okay to live your life. I promise that I will understand, and your readers will too.

Most bloggers don't make a living off their blogs. It's something they are passionate about but it's still a hobby. They have jobs, go to school, and relationships to maintain. They are busy, and life should come before blogging.

I find that I even struggle with this in my life. I can be quick to apologize. I'm sure I have apologized on my blog. I'm not an innocent party in this apologizing epidemic. I can't even promise that I will never apologize on this blog in the future. It's something I'm working on too.

I'm saying maybe it's okay to stop apologizing if you miss a few blog posts. You don't need to apologize for living your life. That is actually what makes your blog a lot more interesting.

First, and foremost thank you all. You all reassured me that I will be more than fine going back to college. I don't need to worry about a little thang. Thank you for you support, encouragement, making me feel a lot better, and all the congratulations. You. all. rock.

This is what I wore for Easter. I had an outfit planned then I put it on the shirt forgetting it was dirty. It looked all wonky, and stretched out. You don't even want to know how many times I changed. I actually really liked this outfit. My basket weaved shoes were perfect for Easter.

I had a fun filled Easter with family, and way too much food. My family, and I ended up having our shin dig at my Dad's church. We had an egg hunt for my nieces, and nephews. Afterward some of the adults ended up spinning empty eggs on a table, while the kids threw the eggs when they stopped spinning. I know this sounds unsafe, it was, but it was a lot of fun.

Chasing flying Easter eggs all over the room with a skirt on was not fun.

Does it ever hit you that something just got real? Like something is happening but it hasn't felt real yet?

I have been getting all my stuff ready to go back to college, and it just sank in all at once. This is real. I'm going back to college. Holy crap can I do this? What on earth am I thinking? I'm nervous. I'm excited. I'm going to have no life for the next three years. Whoa. my. gosh. Breathe Vanessa breathe.

I know it's just cold feet. I am really excited to go back to school, and to better myself. I'm sure I'm going to do more than fine. To start I will be taking online courses so I can still work full time, and do my school work when it's convenient for me. See I'm reassuring myself via my blog. How therapeutic.

Carrie from This Free Bird was one of those blogs I felt right at home from the second I started reading. She blogs from southern California. When I found her blog I read through pages upon pages of archives. She was easy to connect with, and her blog was like reading a great book I couldn't get enough of.

This Free Bird is a healthy mix of lifestyle, and fashion blogging. Carrie talks about her daily life candidly, and doesn't hold back. You will love reading her stories, and I find myself really laughing out loud at them. Whether it's her over bearing landlord, or when she was bedridden from the flu. There is never a dull moment. You will even find some great gluten free recipes.

Her style is bohemian inspired, but with a modern twist. You will be lusting after pieces from her closet in no time, and getting tons of inspiration from her outfit posts. Carrie also posts her latest obsessions, and they are a flower child's dream.

Why did you start blogging?

I work in Executive Search and one of my mentors had been encouraging me for a few years to write a book. Because we partnered on so many searches she was getting a bird's eye view into my life and all the random things that happen to me - really the funniest, crazy stories. At least once a week she would ask me if I was writing it all down. On top of that scenario, for years people had stopped and asked me where I got a certain something I was wearing, where I got haircut, or whatever - and a few of my friends who work in retail kept hounding me to blog about it. Honestly? I really had no clue about the entire blog scene. None. I wasn't even sure what a blog was.

Anyway, long story short - the market slowed down, my schedule became more manageable and one day I just got on blogger and wrote a post. A year later here I am.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I like knowing that my life is being documented, at least in part, somewhere. I live far away from my family and only see them a few times a year. Having grown up in a large extended family I value and miss the interaction - so I want my niece and nephew to know more about me than they do now not seeing me every day. As a grown adult I value my aunts and uncles - and their connection to our family history - very much.

In terms of the actual blogging process - I love the sharing of ideas. There is so much wonderful content being shared amongst bloggers and that is pretty valuable to me. Gathering knowledge is a key part of growth.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

Your style is a reflection of you. It says something about who you are as a person. I can look at other people and love what they wear, but to simply replicate it without truly considering how it suits me in the process only results in me looking uncomfortable in my own skin. I'm pretty eclectic in the way I mix styles or put things together. Being a clone of someone else is not something I aspire to, or would encourage anyone else to do. Be yourself! It's a glorious thing.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?

Ooooooh that's tough. I am a huge fan of Tucker by Gaby Basora and she is, by far and away, the queen of prints. I love all of her bright color combos - whatever they are. Pretty much all of them? haha

Kind of a lame-o answer there, but total truth. Aside from that someone find me a pair of cropped red denim please...and an off white light sweater or blouse to go with. This combo is in my mind on repeat lately.

When did you start shopping second hand?

I'm going to out myself: only about a year ago. I grew up with a mother who SCOURED the garage sales like no other and, for whatever reason, at the time it drove me nuts. So I had to swallow a big piece of the humble pie and admit that I love second hand stuff!! It's in my blood what can I say?? I've been selling my clothes on a consignment basis for over 10 years, but really started to dive into the flea markets and vintage stores about a year ago. Right now I have on a miraculous leather belt that was...wait for it...$9. NINE DOLLARS. hold me.

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?

Don't pressure yourself to find something every time you go. When I first started to go to flea markets I'd be overwhelmed within 30 minutes because I was dying to see that one key item. Then I'd burn out and have to leave.

After awhile I just gave myself an hour. I'd stroll and look for an hour then leave. The next time I'd do the same or give myself a bit more time. No pressure, just enjoyment. After a few times I made my first purchase and now it's much easier.

I started with simple accessories and home stuff: a belt, a unique bowl for the kitchen - things like that. It helped me to gain confidence to look at more substantial things like clothing or furniture (haven't bought furniture yet though).

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?

A couple weeks ago I picked up a black weathered leather bracelet with silver and turquoise conchos on it. It came off some reserve in New Mexico and the dealer was explaining who the original artist was, but it was over my head. This particular dealer is a nice guy and not full of lying stories so I'm going back next month to have him download the info to me again. It may not be much of anything substantial, but the idea of having something that was worn by someone else in the middle of nowhere in NM is kind of cool to me. Nerd alert.

Aside from that I have second hand pieces that came from my grandparents - my favorite thing right now are the Monday through Sunday tea towels that my paternal grandmother liquid embroidered. How they ever got saved is beyond me, but I'm sure glad the were.

I was sent a pair of aloe infused spa socks from Airplus recently. I had heard about their products before, and had seen them in stores in my area. I'm always looking for affordable little luxuries, and I really liked the product so I wanted to share it with you guys.

The socks are infused with aloe, and moisturize your feet. They are the softest socks I have ever worn. The only bad thing I found with these socks is they were a little slick on my wood floors. The fabric is very soft so you have to be a little careful.

My favorite thing is they warm your feet. If you are like me, and your feet are always cold you will love these. It felt really good on my tired feet, and ankles. I will definitely be using these after a long day at work. At around $3.99 a pair they don't break the bank.

Outfit of the day. Rich teal cords.

This is the last find from my trip to Old Navy. I couldn't pass up teal corduroy pants for $3. The color is so rich, and they are really warm. It was chilly yesterday in Ohio so I thought it would be the perfect day to wear these.

I kept the top half simple, and piled on the accessories. The shoes are hounds tooth, the watch is faux snakeskin, the bracelet is polka dot, and the necklace is a wing. I really liked adding all the little details to this outfit. I felt right at home in it.

I feel like I'm becoming a walking Old Navy spokesperson. Old Navy if you want to send me free clothes feel free. I will throw them on my bed, and roll around in them with a big smile on my face. Just like the movies. Except instead of tons money I will have fashion. Sounds like heaven to me.

This cardigan was one of the things I got from the Old Navy sale. It was $7, and I thought a white cardigan would go with everything for spring/summer. I can't wait to get my money's worth from it. I wonder how long it will be before I stain it.

Outfit of the day. Coffee or Carpet?

Yesterday we went shopping, and ran errands. I know exciting life right? While we were out we spotted an Arabica which in our area is known for being a good place to get coffee. This was no ordinary Arabica. They serve coffee, and attached to it was a carpet showroom. When we walked in we tried not to laugh. You do not know how hard it was to not take photos of the place. I kind of wish I would have.

The best part about it? My White Mocha really wasn't that bad.

I stumbled on Snappy, and Savvy a few months ago, and it was hard to ignore we shared one great thing in common, our name. Her style is bold, and she always looks so glamorous. So you can see why followed her blog in a instant. Vanessa lives in a small town in the lovely state of Michigan.

Why did you start blogging?

I started my blog because I love photography, clothing and journaling. I wanted to practice my photography skills and challenge myself to take more photographs.
I'm also intrigued by the connection between what I wear and what I remember about the day I wore it, or vice versa.

In high school, I worked at a book store when this little book was published called "Love, Loss and What I Wore". The author, Ilene Beckerman, illustrated her most memorable outfits, including her Brownie uniform from the 1940s and a canary yellow dress she wore after her wedding. Since then, I've been struck by the idea of clothing as autobiography. I vividly remember the red plaid dress with huge yellow buttons I wore on my first day of school just as clearly as I recall the aqua pencil skirt and polka dot print satin slingbacks I wore on the first day of my job. To me, blogging is part practicing a skill set (photography, social media, technology), part clothing celebration, and part mnemonic device.

All that being said, my favorite part of blogging is not looking back at what I wore the last eight months but meeting dozens of fellow bloggers I consider friends.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?
Because you can! And because having personal style shows confidence, is fun and is a creative endeavor.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
I hail from hardy Scotsman. Naturally, I love a wee bit (lot bit) of plaid.

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?

Wear leggings and a thin shirt so you can try things on in the store without waiting for a dressing room by just pulling the item on over your clothes. Persistence pays off. Go back again and again to a shop as frequently as possible.

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?

I inherited many of my grandmother and aunt's vintage jewelry. They loved cameo pins, clip on earrings, ethnic pieces and chunky necklaces. My favorite piece I've thrifted recently is this leather and brass studded belt I found at an Arizona flee market in June. for $5. My four best friends and I were vacationing, and we spent an hour or so scouring tables in the scorching, dusty, dry heat. When I spied this baby, it was worth sacrificing my pale Michigan skin to the desert sun.

DIY: Turn that old dress into a skirt.

I was reading on Pretty Life Anonymous about how S takes dresses and turns them into skirts. I thought I would show you an easy tutorial on how to do it yourself.

This dress is cute but I felt like the top didn't give me enough coverage, and the one strap broke. I still love the print on the dress so this was a great way to salvage it.

1. You are going to need a dress that has a band all the way around the bust. This will act as the waistband. If the dress has ties where the band is it will help keep your new skirt up.

2. Cut 1-2 inches above the band on the dress.

3. Roll the excess fabric in, or hem it. I chose the roll it in, and be lazy method.

4. BAM! You are done.

Old Navy had an amazing sale this past weekend, and I scored these pants. No you didn't misread the title. These pants were $3, actually $2.87 if you want to get specific. I don't own any black pants, and I have wanted a pair of skinny ones for a long long time. Nice black pants are very hard to find at my thrift store, and I haven't had luck finding any.

I really love the piano, and guitar screen print on the tank. I've had it for 6 or 7 years now. I bought it in a store called Gadzooks. It was a sister store of Forever 21. I think they all are out of business now. When I was in high school I thought it was the coolest store in the world. Then it just up, and closed on me.

I looked at a ton of apartments online last night. So many places are terrified of pets. You got pet deposits, and pet rent. You want me to give you money for a pet non refundable deposit, and pet rent? You must be crazy. That's cute that you think my two cats are going to trash the place. All they do is sleep, and try to jump on my computer desk. For real.

Lately I haven't been in love with my skin so I bought Proactiv. I had an allergic reaction to it. I have dots on my forehead, near my eyes, and on my cheeks. It was bad at first, but it is starting to get better. But, now I'm peeling like a lizard. Okay maybe that is too much information. If you have dry sensitive skin you have been warned.

I was thinking the other day that I follow so many different types of blogs. Women of all ages, races, and sizes. I love that I can connect with people all over the world, and from all walks of life. I think it challenges me to try new things, and look at fashion from different perspectives.

Elaine from Clothed Much is a woman after my own heart. She approaches fashion blogging with a whole lot of humor, and is more than budget friendly. She blogs from the star studded Los Angeles California, and lives there with her husband Chase. She is no diva, okay she is sometimes, and I was personally surprised she lived in LA.

Elaine is Mormon, and believes in dressing modestly. Wondering what dressing modest means? It means tops that show no cleavage, midriffs, or expose your back. For bottoms it means they fall at or below the knee. Neither tops, or bottoms should be fitted too tightly. That is just a three sentence crash course on modest dressing. But, she still keeps it fashionable, and super fresh. Case in point below.

Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging a couple years ago when I was following all these fashion blogs but none of 'em catered to my idea of modesty or mystyle. Why would they? We're all different! So I started my own!

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
I love making new friends. I love learning more about myself. I love seeing my style evolve.

It's totallyimportant! With the media, runways, and even fashion bloggers, telling you what's in or out, it's very important that YOU figure out what you like or don't like to layout the base of your personal style. Personal style is a form of self-expression. You don't want to express yourself just like everyone else in the same exact clothes and styles and trends.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?
I've been breaking my own rule of wearing like-colors lately and I've loved it! I need to find more ways to do that. I don't have a lot of colors. Just white. So it wouldn't work.

When did you start shopping second hand?
In college. That's when I realized that the real world sucked and you had to work and watch your money!!! It was a cruel awakening.

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?
Yes, it's still gross. But if you look hard enough you'll find designer items, unused and BRAND NEW items with tags on them, and even slightly used items that you don't mind keeping because you love it so much. Then you take a shower. No biggy. My biggest advice is to be patient. It all depends on your location, how much time you're willing to commit to thrifting, how often you go, and what days you go.

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?
My vintage gucci bag! I got it at a garage sale in Provo, Utah. My husband was building a tree house that Saturday (that's another story) and I thought I'd check out some garage sales around the area. I ended up in this ritzier neighborhood and found one home having a garage sale. She didn't have much. I almost left but then I decided to check out the few clothes and accessories she had. In a box full of beat-up vintage purses, I found this beauty. I couldn't believe she was getting rid of it! It was in bad condition. The shoulder strap was peeling and almost completely undone, but nothing some super glue can't fix. It also had a big ink blotch inside. Nothing some soap and water can't get out. So I asked her. It turned out to be her friend I was asking and she wasn't sure. I said I'd take it for $3. She said fine. And that's how I scored my first (beat-up) designer handbag.

I love the cowl neck on this sweater. I have always loved a good cowl neckline. It falls so delicately, and I like how it looks a little undone. Don't worry I wore a tank top under this shirt, there is no funny business going on here.

I keep seeing fashion bloggers wearing purple, and olive. I had to jump on this band wagon. It's a great color combo, and was easy peasy for me to recreate. I have way too much purple in my closet. I am currently on a purple shirt ban. Which actually draws me to everything purple at the thrift store.

I'm one of those people. You tell me I can't have it, and then I want it. Next I need it, and then I become obsessed. Someone needs to tell me I can't have fruits, veggies, lean meats, water, and whole grains. I'm saying this right after finishing a drink from Starbucks. I'm classy like that.

When I started reading fashion blogs Suze's from Miss Vinyl Ahoy was one of the first I followed. I found her blog from a guest post on Kendi Everyday, and I loved her blog at first sight. I had never seen anything like her style before. She wasn't afraid to try new things, and dress out of the box.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because my sister made me. Seriously. She lives in another state, five hours away from me, and would bug me every morning about what I was wearing. I started sending her cell phone pics, then turned it into polyvore sets on my blog. Then, finally, started taking outfit photos.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

The people you meet through blogging. You're now part of this community and have something in common with everyone else. I've made instant friends with a few people, which is awesome.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

For me, it gives me an identity outside of what I do for a living. Since my job is very specific, and many people judge me on it, it's nice to have something else that can also show that I'm not just what I do for a living. I think style in a very personal thing and can show off someones personality, upbringing and taste.

What color or print combination have you been loving lately?

I love polka dots and leopard together. It's the print combo that's been stuck in my head along with teal and aqua. They're on my "need to wear" lists.

When did you start shopping second hand?

My parents probably started before I was born. There's this shirt my dad used to make we wear as a child that he got secondhand that says, "Daddy loves Mary." My name's not Mary, nor is my sister's. It's a funny story that he used to tell me that always made me laugh. Because my parent's shopped secondhand, it was only natural that I would as well.

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?

Start with your inspiration ideas and look for pieces that can fit those, sometimes with a little hemming, DIYing or fixing. Secondhand clothing isn't perfect, but you can edit it to fit what you want. And it's better to buy larger, because you can always take it in. Don't buy too small, because it'll never fit.

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?

The most important piece to me is something that was handed down to me, which makes it secondhand to me, although I didn't buy it in a store. My parents got married by a judge in the 70s, and my mom wore some random dress she used to wear to work. She kept it in her closet until I got married two years ago. Somehow I ended up trying it on, and it fit, so I wore it a few times during my engagement period, and it's now living in my closet. It's one of those things I'll never get rid of, even if it doesn't fit me in the future. It's too precious to part with, especially now.

I also have the coolest Swirl 60s dress I found in Chicago. Part of the seam was out, so I got it for something like $20, and it looks like cotton candy. I love it!

Winter still lingered on in March. My over the knee boots still got their share of wear, and I didn't wear my yellow flats as much. I would say my favorite outfit but I really liked a lot of them. I think that is a great sign that I'm learning more about my style, and what I love.

Outfit of the day #60. A little bit country.

When I put this outfit on I wasn't sure how I felt about it. I normally pair navy with black. This brown is really working for me. It almost has a little bit of a country feel. After I saw these photos I fell in I love with this outfit. Like deep passionate love.

I have to say my boyfriend is getting better at taking photos. He even makes me laugh so we get real smiles. See how hard I work? I giggle away as he tells me to woo like the birds, and makes goofy faces at me. Yeah our approach is kind of like a photo shoot for a five year old.

There are these birds at my work. They run everywhere, and barely fly. They do it to confuse predators to where they have laid their eggs. I always wonder why they run like mad, and don't use the wings they have. They could fly to anywhere yet they chose to run. Life can feel that way to me. Like I'm stuck on the ground.

Some times I feel like that bird running everywhere. When I should be flying.

I got some great advice the other day, and it reminded me that we all have stages. Things will change. It just takes time. Overnight fixes aren't usually the best ones anyways.

I tried to toughen up the look of this cream sweater. It usually ends up looking feminine, and sweet. I never wear printed tanks under my tops, and now I feel like I need to. It's also a very inexpensive way to to change your look.

This is my first give away! Unless you count me giving away all these photos of me in my outfits as a prize, and I really can't argue with that. I owned tons of their lip sticks, eye liners, and nail polishes. In the last year the quality of their make up has blown me away. Don't believe me look at the palettes below. Outfit of the day #58. Colorful in the cold.

I decided this is what someone would wear in the Bahamas, if it snowed there a third of the year. The necklace is little seashell pieces, and a light aqua color. I feel like I'm on an island vacation in all this color despite the cold. I couldn't help but smile in almost every picture we took.

I had to wear my gold ballet flats with the jacket. They match the back of the jacket like whoa. I think the jacket, and shoes were meant to be.

Blogs from the heart. Laughing With Broken Eyes.

I met Amber Rose, the writer of Laughing with broken eyes, early on into blogging. Amber lives, and attends college in Tennessee. We have become good friends in the past few months. She is a vintage vixen, and a bombshell. You will usually find in her in a fabulous dress, and her practically signature red lips.

Her blog is filled with outfit posts, snippets of writing, and personal stories. She is not afraid to open up to her readers about personal issues. Amber has shared the pain of broken friendships, negativity, and journey of finding a place to call home. These are things many people deal with in different stages of their lives. Her writing is very honest, and easy to relate to.

Why did you start blogging?

Honestly-- and this is going to sound so lame-- I was obsessed with Peyton Sawyer of One Tree Hill! I loved the idea of having a blog (hers was more of a web cam, but still) where you could put your thoughts out into the universe. It's since become a place for me to post about what I like, my thoughts, but the main reason still rings true-- a place to put my stuff out there.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?

I know that everyone says it, but the community. There's such a support group. I genuinely want these girls to be happy, and I feel like I know them; I'm sure they can all relate! I also love having a sort of time capsule to look back at and see where my head was at a certain time.

Why do you think having your own unique personal style is important?

I think that self-expression, creativity, is how we know we're alive. Every day should be like dress up. It doesn't even have to be clothes! It can be your house, your room, your music, etc.

When did you start shopping second hand?

I actually didn't start thrifting until college. In high school, I was a little punk kid (red hair, band t's, colourful pants!). It wasn't until I started getting into vintage clothing at the end of my senior year that it clicked. Better late than never, though! I can't believe the obscene amount of money I used to spend!

What advice do you have for someone new to shopping second hand?

Go through everything. Seriously, leave no pebble unturned. On the same note, remember that, while things can be altered, there are certain things that shouldn't. With my height (I'm five ft!), I'm a stickler for buying long dresses that would cost more to get hemmed and altered than they are worth. If only I could sew!

Do you have any second hand pieces with a story behind them?

Oh gosh-- yes. I have this terribly tacky Christmas sweater. Seriously, so tacky. It has bells attached to it. I break it out every Christmas because it was the first piece I ever thrifted!

What is your favorite book, or literary piece?

This is such a difficult question for me! I'm an English major, so I could rattle off about books and literature for hours. I'm going to go with my first gut reaction, Hamlet.
